Our Lodges

Churchill Wild boasts two luxury wilderness eco-lodges on the Hudson Bay Coast.  Ideally situated to access and watch a great variety of wildlife, our location is part of what makes ours the most unique polar bear, beluga whale and northern lights viewing adventures on the planet.

This unique environment – an ecotone where four varied ecosystems meet, with a southern climate modified by a vast cold ocean-creates conditions where polar bears, black bears and grizzly bears are all living.  Where caribou meet moose and where birds from the Arctic coexist with birds from the prairies.

Seal River Heritage Lodge

Click for PDFA 50 km and 30 minute flight from Churchill, Seal River Heritage Lodge was strategically built on the shores of the Hudson Bay, near the Seal River estuary. Seal River maximizes viewing potential by giving guests the opportunities to see bears from a variety of locations.  Whether it is from one of the nature trails, the lodge's viewing tower, or right from the lodge windows, a trip to Seal River Heritage Lodge means guests will see polar bears and other wildlife like no one on a town-only package can.

Seal River hosts all of our adventures.  Its accessibility to the Seal River estuary where thousands of beluga whales gather in summer makes it the ideal location for our Birds, Bears and Belugas program.

In winter, Seal River is one of the two lodges that hosts our Fire and Ice program and has perfect snow for igloo building, an ideal geography and seat for viewing the Hudson Bay Quest (www.hudsonbayquest.com) and plenty of Aurora Borealis action for your evening entertainment.

In fall, this one of two locations for our Great Ice Bear program.

Seal River Heritage Lodge boasts:

  • Authentic wilderness lodge style with all the comforts of home
  • Expansive picture windows to maximize ground level viewing
  • A viewing tower to take in the expansive tundra landscape and its wild inhabitants
  • Cozy common area with fireplace for evening wind down
  • Queen, twin and family rooms each with their own ensuite washrooms
